Remember my post about my bum leg?
Well Ma wasn't to keen on doing the surgery as it would really suck for us both and cause me
unnecessary pain! Through Instagram we found a company called OrthoPets.
They will make a non-invasive brace for my leg that I can take in the water, running, playing, etc.
This option is better than being put under, being cut open, lots of internal hardware that may fail, and a long recovery time. It is also considerably cheaper at $800 on the most expensive end (they said they gave me a really high estimate)!
Ma is rather excited for this!
Enjoy this old photo of me:

Do you have it yet? Do you like it? Surgery is always a last option!

No, we just called about it today. It is still an awful lot of money for people like us.
DeleteHi Mason, Firstly I am glad your momma found a brace for you-so much better than surgery.
ReplyDeleteAlso, I have to say that I love your background-being 100% Irish and all. Hope you have a great weekend.

Howdy Mason, hope the brace thingy works for ya mate and helps you and your leg to enjoy life! The week before Christmas I (Rory) had an embolism in my spine and lost the use of my back legs for around three weeks and then have slowly regained movement. My left back leg is the worst and that is why I'm having trouble with my nail cause I drag my foot sometimes and when it first happened I damaged my nail badly. It was all healed up till I had fun with my cousin Tyler running (or trying to run). I'm fine although wobbly when I walk now. Hehe, we'd make a good pair together wouldn't we! See ya mate. Take care. No worries, and love, Stella and Rory
ReplyDeleteP.S. I don't know why but your feeds haven't been coming up on our blog reader list. We've re-added you so paws crossed it works again. No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella
Sounds like a plan!

Have you checked out neopaws.com they also make all kind of doggie orthopedic things - it is where we get Reilly's boots from for his arthritic foot
ReplyDeleteWe have never heard of them before.
DeleteI sure hope this helps Mason. And you can go in water with it too. it sounds perfect....
ReplyDeleteWow that is great and I hope it helps you lots. I will cross paws for you.
